This product can be applied to your lawn at different stages of the grub life cycle, with these 3 seasons being most ideal:

  • Spring (April – Late May): Apply after ground has thawed to control over-wintering grubs that are now migrating to the surface to feed on the roots.
  • Summer (Late June – Early August): Apply to control newly hatched grub larvae. Should be applied within 2-3 weeks of peak timing for adult beetles.
  • Fall (Late August – September): Apply to help control new grubs that have hatched from new beetle eggs throughout the summer. This will help to protect the turf from overwintering grubs and lessen the impact and quantity of grubs the following spring.

Yes, absolutely. You can apply fertilizer directly after (or right before) using Scotts® Grub B Gon MAX®.

Scotts® Grub B Gon MAX® Grub Killer is effective due to being formulated with the natural active ingredient, Btg SDS-502. This product will control beetle grubs upon ingestion and effectively wipe out colonies of grubs. Over time, it will give your lawn a second chance at growth.

Grubs reproduce rapidly once they find a food source in your lawn, leading to brown patches and dead grass as they consume vital lawn nutrients. 

Left unchecked, this infestation attracts animals and pests that further damage your lawn while feeding on the grubs.

  • The product should be kept away from direct sunlight, fire or open flame, or other source of heat. 
  • Store at temperatures between 4-25°C.
  • The product should be used within 17 months of date of manufacture (the first date printed on pack).
  • Use this product in accordance with label instructions, as it may cause health, safety and environmental risks.
  • Do not re-enter or allow re-entry into treated areas for 4 hours or until dusts have settled.
