How Does The Scotts Turf Builder Starter Lawn Food Work?

Scotts Turf Builder Starter Lawn Food comes in granular form, which makes it easy to apply using a spreader. The granules are designed to release nutrients slowly and evenly into the soil, ensuring that the grass roots have a consistent supply of essential elements. The product is water-soluble, meaning that it dissolves in water and is readily absorbed by the plant roots, promoting faster growth and establishment.

Ingredients

The NPK ratio of Scotts Turf Builder Starter Lawn Food is 24-25-4 which explains that there is a large amount of nitrogen and phosphorus found in this product.

  • Nitrogen: Nitrogen is a large component of chlorophyll which is what gives grass its healthy green appearance. Without nitrogen and the development of chlorophyll, lawns cannot retain energy from the sun during photosynthesis.
  • Phosphorus: To grow a hardy lawn with strong, durable grass roots, phosphorous is required for efficient growth during the starting stages of lawn development.
