Frequently Asked Questions
If I still have soil left in my bag of Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil, what should I do with it?
If you have organic potting mix leftover, just close up the bag and keep it in a dry spot, like your garage or garden shed.
How is Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil different from regular Raised Bed Soil?
This is our multitasking soil. It's specially formulated to be great for both raised beds and for mixing into your in-ground gardens to improve the native soil.
What does the OMRI-Listed logo mean on my bag of Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil?
OMRI stands for the Organic Materials Review Institute. Their logo on the Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil bag means the product has been reviewed and meets the guidelines for use in organic gardening.
Can I use Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil in pots and containers?
This soil is really at its best in raised beds and in-ground gardens. For your outdoor pots and containers, we recommend a Miracle-Gro Organic Outdoor Container Mix, which is made just for container gardening.
Why is Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil peat-free?
Peat is a limited resource that takes a long time to form, so we formulated this soil without it—using upcycled green waste instead to help retain moisture and feed your plants. It's one of the ways we're reducing our overall use of peat across all of our organic soils.
What does “Locally Crafted” mean on my bag of Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil?
It means Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil is manufactured close to home—on average within 150 miles of the store where it's sold (excludes AK & HI)—so your soil doesn't have to travel far to reach your garden.
Is Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil formulated the same everywhere?
Not exactly. This soil is regionally formulated with locally available organic materials like compost and processed forest products, so the exact blend can vary slightly depending on where you are. Every regional formulation is still OMRI-Listed and peat-free.
What's the difference between raised bed soil and regular garden soil?
Raised bed soil is designed to be a complete growing medium on its own, filling the bed from top to bottom, while garden soil is meant to be mixed into your existing native soil to improve it. Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil is formulated to work well both ways.
