Where to Use: Good for all yards; great for hard to mow patches or in your entire yard.

How to Use: This is your ticket to a low-maintenance yard. Perfect for overseeding into your current grass.

When to Use: Plant in the spring or fall when daily temperatures are consistently between 60–75°F.

How Often to Use: Just once is all it takes to get things going.

For Overseeding Your Existing Green Space:

  1. GET READY: Mow your existing lawn on a low setting. Rake the area to loosen the soil and clear out any dead grass or debris. This helps the clover seeds settle in.
  2. APPLY: Pour the seed into your spreader and set it to the overseeding rate. Walk your lawn, applying the seed evenly.
  3. RAKE (GENTLY): Lightly rake the seed into the soil to ensure good contact.
  4. WATER: Lightly water the area so the soil surface is moist. Keep it damp by watering twice a day for the first three weeks.
  • Scotts Broadcast / Rotary Spreaders: 2
  • Scotts Drop Spreaders: 3 ½
  • Scotts Wizz Spreader: 3 ½
  • Scotts Hand-Held Spreaders: 3

Clover needs consistent moisture to get started. For the first two weeks, a light watering twice a day is perfect. You're aiming to keep the soil surface consistently damp, but not soggy. Once your clover is established, it's remarkably self-sufficient and will need much less water than traditional grass.

  • Patience Pays Off: You'll start to see clover sprouts in about 5-7 days.
  • Mowing Optional: One of the best parts about a clover lawn is that you don't have to mow it as often. When you do, set your mower to a higher setting to avoid cutting off the flower heads.
  • Ready for Play: Go ahead, let the whole crew run wild. This product is safe for use around people and pets, so you can get right back to the good times immediately after application. Just use as directed. That means don't eat it, drink it, rub it in your eyes...you get the point.
  • Gear Up: Even though we use only the good stuff, it's always smart to use common sense. We recommend wearing gloves and closed-toe shoes. Save the flip-flops for when you're admiring your handiwork.
  • Wash Up: Make sure to wash your hands after you're done. It's a good rule of thumb for any yard work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I store leftover product?

Find a cool, dry spot that's out of direct sunlight. Fold or roll the top of the bag down to keep it sealed up tight, and it'll be ready when you are.

When you overseed, the clover will mix in nicely with your existing grass, creating a blended, more resilient lawn. It works with your grass, not against it.

Not this stuff. For years, clover was actually a standard part of lawn seed mixes because it's so beneficial. It’s low-maintenance, great for the soil, and bees love it. We're just bringing a classic back.

It does—in the best way possible. Clover is soft and cool underfoot, making it an amazing surface for backyard lounging, cartwheels, and picnics.
