One 8 lb. bag covers up to 2,000 sq. ft. when overseeding or 665 sq. ft. for a new lawn. Water daily for at least 3 weeks, or until new grass reaches 2 inches.

Where to Use: Northern and transition zone yards with full sun or moderate shade (about 4–6 hours of sun). Use it to grow a new yard or to overseed an existing tall fescue lawn.

Starting a New Green Space:

1. Get Ready: Rake to loosen the top layer of soil (about 2 inches deep) and remove any dead grass or debris so the seed makes good contact with the soil.
2. Apply: Pour the product into your Scotts spreader and set the dial to the new green space rate. Walk at a steady pace, slightly overlapping each pass. Some spreader settings require multiple passes.
3. Rake: Lightly rake the seed into the soil so it's slightly covered.
4. Water: Lightly water so the soil surface is moist. Continue to water daily for at least 3 weeks (set a reminder on your phone so you don't forget), or until your new grass reaches 2 inches tall.
5. Feed: Apply a bag of O.M. Scott & Sons Natural Grass Food 4–6 weeks after planting.

Overseeding an Existing Green Space:

1. Get Ready: Mow your yard at your lowest setting and bag the clippings, then rake to remove debris and dead grass and loosen the soil.
2. Apply: Pour the product into your Scotts spreader and set the dial to the overseeding rate. Walk at a steady pace, slightly overlapping each pass.
