How To Use
It’s simple to get started:
- Make a Quick Switch: Remove the grow deck from your AeroGarden unit and replace it with the Seed Starter Tray.
- Fill Up the Tray: Place the grow sponges into the cells of the Seed Starter Tray.
- Add Your Seeds: Add one or two of your favorite seeds to each sponge.
- Get Ready to Grow: Add water and plant food to the reservoir. It might take a little patience, but soon you'll see green sprouts!
Product Tips
Your seedlings will be ready to move to their outdoor home when they are 2-3 inches tall and have a strong root system. To transplant, gently remove the grow sponges from the tray and plant them directly into your garden or pots. The sponges will help protect the young roots and minimize transplant shock.

How long will it take my plants to germinate?
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee. After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.
