Description

Keep weeds out of your lawn! Ortho® WeedClear™ Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate kills all listed weeds without harming your lawn (when used as directed). It kills over 200 major broadleaf weeds and grass weeds down to the root, dandelion, chickweed, clover, crabgrass, foxtail, and others as listed. The formula is rainproof in 1 hour and is fast-acting - you'll see results in just one application. Use this weed killer on lawn grasses, including Bermudagrass, Buffalograss, Fescues, Kentucky Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and Zoysiagrass. This product is a concentrate and must be diluted before use. To apply, dilute per label directions and use an Ortho® Dial N Spray® or tank sprayer. For best results, apply to young, actively growing weeds when daytime temperatures are between 45°F and 90°F*. This product is for spot treatment only; do not apply to the entire lawn. Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried. One 32 fl. oz. container of Ortho® WeedClear™Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate treats up to 5,000 sq. ft. *Do not apply to Bermudagrass when temperatures are above 85°F

How to Use

  • First, determine the type of sprayer you're using. Then, refer to "Mixing Instructions" to look up the proper amount of product to add to the sprayer based on the type of sprayer you're using and the type of grass you're spraying.
  • Next, add product to a Tank Sprayer or Ortho® Dial-N-Spray® along with water if indicated. Finally, turn the dial on the Dial-N-Spray to the correct setting (if using). Then, apply at the correct time and avoid spraying as a fine mist, which can cause injury to other plants.
  • The maximum application rate is 6.0 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq ft per application and no more than 2 treatments per year.
  • Remember: A little goes a long way with this herbicide. More is not better, as over-application or rates above those recommended on this label can cause grass injury!

Where Not to Use

  • To avoid lawn damage, do not use this product on Bahiagrass, Bentgrass, Carpetgrass, Centipedegrass, Dichondra, or gardens including vegetables, fruit trees, vines and berries, ornamental plants (flowers, trees, groundcovers, landscape beds and shrubs), Seashorepaspalum, St. Augustinegrass, or certain Turfgrass species.
  • Do not use indoors.

Where to Use

Specifically formulated for use on established residential outdoor lawns only, including Kentucky bluegrass, Ryegrass, Tall fescue, fine fescues, Bermudagrass, Zoysiagrass, and Buffalograss.

When to Apply

  • For maximum weed-killing outcomes, apply this product when weeds are small and actively growing in the spring or fall months.
  • For large and smooth crabgrass, use in the spring before crabgrass is 4 inches tall or when it's first noticeable in the lawn.

How Often to Apply

Due to its powerful nature, customers are limited to only two broad applications per year. However, certain hard-to-kill weeds or dense populations may need to be spot treated in 21 days.

  • Spray when weeds are actively growing, temperatures are below 90 degrees, and outdoor conditions are calm and not windy, and there is not rain expected on the day of application.
  • This will help to avoid damage to the lawn, as well as spray drift, drip, mist, or splash at the application site, which could harm desirable broadleaf plants and surrounding ecosystems.

Watering Tips

  • If your lawn appears a little parched, water 24 hours prior to application. To avoid potential runoff, do not water within 24 hours of treatment.

Using with other Products

  • In the event of an insect infestation, apply Ortho® BugClear™ Insect Killer for Lawns & Landscapes no sooner than 4 weeks after application.
  • If needed, plant food and soil may be applied one week following the herbicide application.
