Description

Kill weeds down to the root without harming your lawn (when used as directed)! Ortho® WeedClear™ Lawn Weed Killer Ready-To-Use1 with Trigger Sprayer controls and suppresses over 250 types of weeds, including major broadleaf weeds (see label for list), dandelion, clover, oxalis, chickweed, and spurge, yet won't damage your grass (when used as directed). The formula is rainfast in hours and delivers results in 24 hours. The liquid herbicide enters through leaves and moves inside the weed down to the roots. To use, install the Ortho® Trigger Sprayer from the side of the bottle to easily reach and spot-treat weeds with your desired nozzle setting. Best to apply when weeds are young and actively growing. Recommended for use on multiple lawn varieties including Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, fescues, common bermudagrass, hybrid bermudagrass, bahiagrass, bentgrass, buffalograss, centipedegrass, zoysiagrass, and St. Augustinegrass (except Floratam).

How to Use

Start by drawing the sprayer from the bottle and pulling the hose connector and coil from the sprayer handle. Insert the hose connector into the spout located on the cap until it securely clicks into place.

Flip the spout up and turn the sprayer nozzle to open and spray. Adjust the spray nozzle to give a coarse spray, avoiding a fine mist as this could damage desirable plants. Aim the sprayer at the center of weeds and pull the trigger to cover lightly.

Where Not to Use

  • Do not use this product for controlling weeds in vegetable gardens, flower beds or around shrubs or ornamental plants. Do not use on or around fruits, vegetables or flowers.
  • Do not apply with 25 feet of rivers, fish ponds, lakes, streams, reservoirs, marshes, estuaries, bays and oceans.

Where to Use

  • Intended for use only on residential lawns including Kentucky bluegrass; perennial ryegrass; fescue; bermudagrass (hybrid and common); bahiagrass; bentgrass; buffalograss; centipedegrass; zoysiagrass; and St. Augustinegrass (except Floratam).

When to Apply

  • For the best weed killing results, spray when broadleaf weeds are actively growing, and air temperatures are not expected to exceed 90°F for 6 hours. Although this herbicide can be applied in the spring, summer, or fall, summer applications tend to be less effective. Under adequate soil moisture conditions, spring and fall treatments tend to offer best results.

How Often to Apply

  • Despite the power of this herbicide, certain persistent weeds may require a repeat application no sooner than 30 days. To ensure the longevity of your lawn, limit treatments (including spot treatments) to 2 times per year.

Watering Tips

  • Rain or watering 6 hours after application will not wash away effectiveness.
