Take back your lawn from weeds with Ortho® WeedClear™ Weed Killer for Lawns. This lawn weed control product kills all listed weeds without harming your lawn (when used as directed). It kills over 250 major broadleaf weeds down to the root, including dandelion, chickweed, clover, spurge, oxalis, and others as listed. The formula produces results in hours with just 1 application and is rainproof in 1 hour. Use this weed killer on listed lawn grasses, including St. Augustinegrass (not Floratam), Bermudagrass, Centipedegrass, Zoysiagrass, Buffalograss, and Bahiagrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Ryegrass, Tall Fescue, and Fine Fescue. To use, connect the trigger sprayer to bottle, set to your desired spray pattern, and spray at the center of individual weeds to lightly cover weed leaves. For best results, apply to actively growing weeds in spring or fall when daytime temperatures are below 90°F. This product is for spot treatment only; do not apply to the entire lawn. Where Not to Use

  • Applications should not be made within 25 feet of rivers, fish ponds, lakes, streams, reservoirs, marshes, estuaries, bays, and oceans.
  • Do not apply when it is raining or when rain is expected that day.
  • You should also not apply Ortho® WeedClear™ Weed Killer for Lawns to the Floratam variety of St. Augustinegrass; Bentgrass; Carpetgrass; Dichondra; Lippia; Seashore paspalum and any Turfgrass species not listed. Applications should also not be made to ornamental plants (flowers, trees, groundcovers, landscape beds and shrubs) or gardens including vegetable, fruit trees, vines and berries..

Where to Use

  • Use on warm season turfgrass like St. Augustinegrass (Do not use on Floratam); Bermudagrass (common and hybrid); Centipedegrass; Zoysiagrass; Buffalograss and Bahiagrass as well as on cool season grasses like Kentucky Bluegrass; Ryegrass; Tall Fescue and Fine Fescue.

When to Apply

  • Apply in the spring and fall when weeds are small and actively growing, when the air is calm, and the temperature is below 90°F.

How Often to Apply

  • Applications should be limited to 2 per year with at least 30 days between them.

Watering Tips

  • If the lawn is dry, water thoroughly before applying.
  • Allow 12 hours after applying before watering the lawn for maximum effectiveness.

  • This pesticide is toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates and may adversely affect non-target plants. To protect the environment, do not allow pesticide to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. Applying this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area. Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas.
  • This product has properties and characteristics associated with chemicals detected in groundwater. The use of this product in areas where soils are permeable, particularly where the water table is shallow, may result in groundwater contamination. Application around a cistern or well may result in contamination of drinking water or groundwater.
