The new lawn formula contains nitrogen and potassium, essential nutrients for all grass, but also phosphorus to promote root development. Our connect-and-spray reusable applicator makes feeding a breeze—just hook it up to your hose, and you can make 3 separate 600 sq. ft. applications in just 10 minutes. We also designed the translucent bottle so you can easily see how much lawn food you've used. Grab your hose and get your weekend back.

Where to Use: For use on all grass types
Where Not to Use: Do not apply near water, storm drains, or drainage ditches
When to Apply: Apply when growing new grass seed or sod. Do not apply if heavy rain is expected, and apply only to actively growing turf.
How Often to Apply: This bottle makes 3 weekly 600 sq. ft. applications. Make your first application once the new grass begins to sprout. Your second application should be one week after your 1st feeding, and your third feeding one week after your 2nd.
After you've planted your new grass, water daily or as needed to keep the soil moist for at least 3 weeks or until seedlings reach 2 inches in height. Once your grass is established, you can go back to a normal watering routine.
Make sure the switch on the applicator is in the OFF position. Disconnect the applicator from your hose and store the original container in a cool, dry area out of reach of children, away from heat, sunlight, or open flame.
If you've seeded bare spots or a whole lawn, wait to mown the area until the new grass is at least 3 inches tall. If you've overseeded your existing lawn, you can mow as needed, but try to cut back the frequncy to limit foot traffic on the new seedlings.
You can reuse this applicator, but only with a Scotts product that is specifically labeled for lawn application. Do not use it with non-Scotts products or products not labeled for this specific sprayer.
It's easy! Fill the empty bottle with water, reattach the applicator, and spray it over the treated area until empty. Remove and store the applicator in a clean, dry space until your next use.
Just like us, lawns need nutrients to thrive. Starter food provides a specific blend of nitrogen for green growth, phosphorus for early root development, and potassium to help your new grass manage water and adapt to its environment. This gives your yard the strong foundation it needs to crowd out weeds and withstand summer heat.
