DESCRIPTION
ScottsĀ® Turf BuilderĀ® Grass Seed Commercial Mix is an all purpose grass seed mix designed for sunny and shady areas in lawns. In addition, this commercial grass seed mix is coated to absorb 2X more water than uncoated seed and has a coarse bladed texture with medium drought resistance. Use this sun and shade seed to overseed a thin lawn or to start a new lawn. Apply in four simple steps: 1) Prep area per label directions for seeding a new lawn or overseeding, 2) Apply grass seed using a ScottsĀ® spreader at the recommended setting on the label, 3) Rake to cover seed just below the soil surface, and 4) Water daily until seedlings reach at least 2 inches in height. One 7 lb. bag of ScottsĀ® Turf BuilderĀ® Grass Seed Commercial Mix has a new lawn coverage of 930 sq. ft. or an overseeding coverage or 2,800 sq. ft.

Under tree is green and lush.
I bought this to spread around my front yard tree as my neighbors weeds are creeping over. It worked great and now I need to use more to support the rest of the yard.

Better than I expected!
I applied the seed mix on June 20th and on the 7th day I noticed grass starting to grow! All I did was keep the ground wet and kept the dogs off of the seeded area. Product did better than what was said on the bag, I couldn't be happier!

Two huge bags later and still waiting
I gave it a blank canvas, weed free. Within 14-21 days grass broke through. I kept dogs and people off for four months. Mowed every time it got to mowing level, kept watered. Lawn grew more weeds than grass, used a Scott’s weed and feed, then used a Pennington brand for my shade area because no grass was really growing there, through excess scattered throughout. I believe that’s mostly what’s left of my yard. No rye came during winter, I overseeded a winter rye, now rye is dying off, I overseeded with another bag. Little growth can be seen but tons of weeds again š„²
