DESCRIPTION
Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Heat-Tolerant Blue® Mix for Tall Fescue Lawns resists extreme heat. This mix contains Root-Building Nutrition, a combination of ingredients that is expertly crafted to help establish deep roots to grow thick, green turf so that you can build a better, stronger lawn from the roots up. Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Heat-Tolerant Blue® Mix for Tall Fescue Lawns is designed for full sun and partial shade, and has medium to high drought resistance with medium to high durability. It can be used to seed a new lawn or overseed an existing lawn. For best results, apply in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 75°F or air temperatures are between 65°F and 85°F. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 16 lb. bag of Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Heat-Tolerant Blue® Mix for Tall Fescue Lawns has a new lawn coverage of 1,330 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 4,000 sq. ft.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
How to Use
When Seeding a New Lawn
- One 16 lb. bag covers 1,330 sq. ft. for a new lawn.
- Use a rake to prep the area to be seeded. Loosen the top layer of soil (roughly 2" deep). Remove any dead grass or debris to ensure seed-to-soil contact.
- Apply using a Scotts® spreader - Set a Scotts® Hand-Held Spreader to 5. Go over the lawn 3x. Set a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader to 9 1/2. Go over the lawn 2x. Set a Scotts® Drop Spreader to 18. Go over the lawn 5x. Set a Scotts® Wizz® Spreader to 7 1/2. Go over the lawn 3x. Set a Scotts® Elite Spreader to 11 1/2.
- Lightly rake the area where the seed was applied to ensure it is covered just beneath the soil.
- Water daily, or as needed, to keep the soil surface moist for at least 3 weeks or until the seedlings reach at least 2 in. tall.
When Overseeding an Existing Lawn
- One 16 lb. bag covers 4,000 sq. ft. when overseeding an existing lawn.
- Mow the lawn using the lowest mower setting. Bag the clippings as you go. Rake the area you will be seeding to loosen the top layer of soil. Remove any dead grass or debris to ensure seed-to-soil contact.
- Apply using a Scotts® spreader - Set a Scotts® Hand-Held Spreader to 5. Go over the lawn 2x. Set a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader to 7 1/2. Set a Scotts® Drop Spreader to 17. Go over the lawn 2x. Set a Scotts® Wizz® Spreader to 7 1/2. Set a Scotts® Elite Spreader to 6 1/2.
- Lightly rake the area where the seed was applied to ensure it is covered just beneath the soil.
- Water daily, or as needed, to keep the soil surface moist for at least 3 weeks or until the seedlings reach at least 2 in. tall.
