Key Features

  • DESIGNED TO BE REUSED: High-impact plastic and rust-resistant metals stand up to repeated use, so one trap keeps working catch after catch
  • INTERLOCKING TEETH: A secure catch design with interlocking teeth that make escapes virtually impossible once the trap is triggered by a rat
  • EASY TO SET BY HAND OR FOOT: A removable bait cup lets you fully prep the trap without setting it, and the trap sets easily with a single motion

The Tomcat Rat Snap Trap is an advanced rat trap design, combining aggressive capture and holding capability with user-friendly features that make it ideal for home and farm use. Place food, such as peanut butter, or Tomcat Attractant Gel (sold separately) into the removable bait cup and re-insert it into the trap. Carefully set the trap by compressing the top portion to the bottom until it clicks into position, by hand or foot, then position it perpendicular to a wall where rats are known to travel. High-impact plastic and rust-resistant metals allow the trap to be re-used again and again, and patented, interlocking teeth make escapes virtually impossible.

Where to Use: Position the trap perpendicular to a wall or other structure where rats are known to travel.

Where Not to Use: Do not use in areas that are accessible to children and pets. Since rodent traps rely on food-based bait, avoid placing it directly next to pet food, garbage, or other competing food sources, which can reduce its effectiveness.

When to Use: The moment you see signs of a rat, it’s time to set traps. Don’t wait for your rodent problem to get bigger.

How Often to Use: Check the trap regularly and reset with fresh bait as needed. Because the trap is reusable, it can be reset and placed again after each catch rather than replaced.

  1. BAIT: Place food (such as peanut butter) or Tomcat Attractant Gel into the removable bait cup and re-insert it into the trap.
  2. SET: Carefully set the trap by compressing the top portion, containing the ridges, to the bottom until it clicks into position. This can be done by hand or foot.
  3. PLACE: Position the trap perpendicular to a wall or other structure where rats are known to travel.
  • The removable bait cup lets you re-bait the trap without having to set it, making repeat use more convenient.
  • Wearing gloves while handling and placing the trap can help avoid leaving a human scent that may make rats more cautious.

When activated, this trap can cause serious physical injury requiring medical attention. Take care when handling, and keep out of reach of children and pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A better rat trap! Rats in the garden. Poison: not for me, because so many other critters feed on them. I definitely prefer the Tomcat to the older style spring traps. Easier to bait and clean, safer to set. Also, the rats can't nudge/jostle it into snapping out of the kill zone. However, because the trap is small and light, it was no problem for a red-tailed hawk to carry off the whole package. It only happened once so far- the cost of doing business I guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I bought two traps recently. We've had rodents damage electric wiring in two cars recently amounting in over $1000 of repairs. I set two traps in our car port and within days we've caught two rodents so far. I've reset the traps and am waiting to see if we catch any more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product These traps are remarkable in their efficiency. Every time one has been triggered it has caught the culprit, there have been zero instances of failure to catch. It almost makes me wish I had more vermin in my yard to eradicate as the results are so pleasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective proven tool to combat a rat issue. I have used this product to take out rats for several years. I find them to be durable, effective, and well engineered. Recently helped me nab nine rats who were rampaging through a compost bin. I swear by this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great What a bunch of silly comments. To expect every critter to be instantly trapped and killed is not realistic. Designing something that would do that would likely be dangerous to humans as well. I bought this for chipmunks. In two days it caught six as well as two shrews. All with only batting the trap once. The bigger the critter the less likely it is to kill them in my experience. I set the trap outside where I can easily see it and go finish the job if the trap doesnt kill it. I have even watched several chipmunks get trapped. Occasionally a timid chipmunk manages to back away in time to avoid capture. Squirrels will set it off as well. I would say this trap has a good capture rate and am very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really haven't had a problem with the traps except that they don't last long if I mymake a suggestion you mite want to use a steel clamp so that at the price you are charging that you might be able to sell more than what you are known. Because after it snaps one good time, the clamp breaks and it is no longer any use. So I decided to let you know before going online to find how many other people are having the same problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! My furnace guy noticed rat droppings in my partially dirt basement in Atlanta and he said I had better get rid of them or they would chew up the wiring in the furnace. Great success the first time I used them, they adore peanut butter. I have used them a few times since, always with great success. I keep the floor swept and when I see droppings, I set a trap! Very easy to bait and set. I'm not cheap but the thought of cleaning one of them following decapitation is too gross for this city girl, so I drop the whole thing in a paper bag and let the city give them a proper burial.
