How To Use
- PREP: First, check the back of your Scotts product bag for the correct spreader setting.
- FILL: We recommend filling the spreader over your driveway, not the lawn. That way, you can easily sweep up any spills.
- SET: Turn the orange dial to the setting you just found on the product bag.
- GO: Start walking at a steady pace, pull the trigger, and turn the crank. For the best results, try to keep a consistent rhythm with both your walking and cranking.

Whirl feels better at first spin
The previous handheld spreader (not a Scotts} lasted one application before seizing up. The Scott's Whirl turns better, spins much smoother and makes quick work out of spreading fertilizer and pest prevention consistently over my 5000 sq. Ft. of yards.

My Go-To Spreader - 2 Changes to Perfection
This is a great spreader for small lawns - it would be perfect with two changes. I have a 2300 ft2 lawn, and the Whirl is great for lawns like mine. I recommend making two changes to improve it:
1. Put a pour lip on it. People with small lawns are probably the primary users of the Whirl. Small lawns means that an entire bag of product won’t be used all at once. Much easier to get the remaining product back in the bag with a pour lip built into the top.
2. Put spreader settings for all spreaders on each bag of product. Push spreaders are covered, but finding a Whirl setting is hit or miss. Wizz settings are not the same. I want to get my product applications as close to perfect as possible - that’s a tall order without recommended settings for your spreader on the bag.
Bottom line - this is a great product for urban lawn addicts like me. A couple of tweaks would make it perfect.

Love My New Spreader!
The Scotts® Whirl™ Hand-Powered Spreader features an adjustable forearm support. This support spreads the weight out which eases the pressure on your wrist. Using the Scotts® Whirl™ is so comfortable! It is a nice upgrade from my old Scotts spreader that I've used for years.

Easy and effective
Perfectly easy to use and does a great job on a small yard. The spreader itself is light weight and the pull out arm rest really makes it easy to hold up with one hand for an extended period of time.

Easy Peasy!
Just got this spreader and it was easy to use on a small lawn. I had to make some adjustments because I can't walk as fast as instructions recommends. Very lightweight.
I wish the instructions included how to clean it before storing. I had to look it up on the net to get instructions on how to clean it. Otherwise I'm very happy with it and would recommend to friends.
