This Seed Starting System will allow you to start up to 15 seedlings indoors in your AeroGarden 2020 model 3-pod Sprout with no dirt and no mess, then easily transplant them into your outdoor garden when weather allows. This design promotes healthier root development, makes removing and transplanting seedlings easier than ever and grows 50% faster than our first generation Seed Starting Systems. The AeroGarden nurtures your seeds with optimal amounts of water and plant food, and provides plenty of light and warmth for reliable germination and healthy growth. How To Use
It’s simple to get started:
- Make a Quick Switch: Remove the grow deck from your AeroGarden unit and replace it with the Seed Starter Tray.
- Fill Up the Tray: Place the grow sponges into the cells of the Seed Starter Tray.
- Add Your Seeds: Add one or two of your favorite seeds to each sponge.
- Get Ready to Grow: Add water and plant food to the reservoir. It might take a little patience, but soon you'll see green sprouts!
Product Tips
Your seedlings will be ready to move to their outdoor home when they are 2-3 inches tall and have a strong root system. To transplant, gently remove the grow sponges from the tray and plant them directly into your garden or pots. The sponges will help protect the young roots and minimize transplant shock.

- Keep the Seed Starting System and small grow sponges out of reach of children and pets.
- Remember to use caution around the electrical parts of your AeroGarden and always keep water inside the grow basin.
- When transplanting your seedlings outdoors, use appropriate gardening gloves.

How do AeroGardens work?

Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. How do I prune Lettuce/Salads?
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than â…“ of any plant at once.
How long will it take my plants to germinate?
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee. After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Seed starter trays
I've used the seed starter trays for my larger units but thought, why not get them for my Sprouts as well. They are super easy to use and it's easier to move the seedlings to starter pots without having to remove the plastic cages.

Only Way To Grow Seeds
This worked amazing and it's the only way I will start my seeds from now on. I bought some fairly expensive seeds and nothing grew outside, but they BLEW UP in the aero garden. I would wake up in the morning and my plants would be a little bit bigger each day. In under a month we had 10 plants that were almost ready to go outside. I think most of the bad reviews probably had bad seeds because this thing really works and all I did was add water and fertilizer.

Best sprouting system
Amazing way to get started on your garden. I wanted to grow my own veggies and herbs and had bought some seeds on Etsy. This seed starting system has been great and I get seedlings within a few days. Once they are about 3-4 inches tall I transplant them to a small greenhouse outside and all are doing very well! Can’t wait for my crops!
