Frequently Asked Questions
How do AeroGardens work?
AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
How do I prune Lettuce/Salads?
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter. As a general rule, never prune more than â…“ of any plant at once.
How long will it take my plants to germinate?
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days
If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.
How do I clean my AeroGarden before starting a new garden?
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

These are really handy. A lot easier than trying to use the cap to measure.

Plant nutrients
This plant food does wonders for growing plants and the aero garden. Without it, they just don’t prosper.
I see they’re out of stock, and I sure could use them. When will they be supplied again?

Fresh Herbs Make All The Difference!!
This is my second AeroGarden. I have had good results with both of mine, except that some of the pods don't sprouts. These are quickly replaced by customer service. Some herbs are just harder to grow. Customer service is almost always responsive and the wait is usually pretty brief compared to others. The basils grow VER rapidly (Thai especially) and will take over everything. I give away bagsful of basil to my neighbors. It has to be used as soon after harvesting as possible. It begins to "turn" as soon as it is harvested. Have not tried flowers yet and I am too impatient to try tomatoes. Dill also grows very quickly. Snip uour herbs when you need to be pruned and add them to fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, in cooking, and sometimes as drink garnishes. Easy to use and maintain. With the price of fresh herbs in the grocery these days, you will make your money spent back very quickly!

Easier application
Easier to use when fertilizing. I thought I was wasting too much when pouring in the lid

Easy to use
The Dispensers make it extremely easy to inject the plant food into the AeroGarden base. So far, I have only used one of the three provided, as I simply rinse out the one I am using with tap water and reuse it.

Easy to use
Easy to use. I do think using the cap from the bottle is also useful.
