Watering Tips

Product Tips
- Repotting: To avoid soil compaction and give your plants fresh nutrients, we recommend repotting tropicals annually with fresh potting mix.
- Feeding: Your plants will get hungry! Start a regular feeding program with Miracle-Gro Indoor Plant Food for Tropicals 30 days after planting to keep them growing strong.
Product Safety
- We recommend wearing gardening gloves when using this or other planting materials.
- Use with adult supervision.
- Be sure to wash your hands after use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this product the same as Miracle-Gro Tropical Potting Mix?
Yes. Our Miracle-Gro Tropical Potting Mix got a name upgrade to Indoor Potting Mix for Tropicals. We also gave it a fresher, cleaner look on the outside, without changing the goodness on the inside.
If I have product leftover, how do I store it?
We're glad you asked! To keep your leftover indoor gardening soil in great shape, simply seal the bag (a clip or tape works great!) and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
What makes this soil for tropical plants different from an all-purpose mix?
Great question! This tropical potting mix is specially blended for plants that thrive in a jungle environment. It contains lava rock and sand to provide better drainage than most standard mixes, which is key for keeping plants like monsteras and snake plants happy and preventing root rot.
What kinds of tropical plants can I use this mix for?
This mix is fantastic for so many popular indoor houseplants! It's a great choice for your fiddle leaf fig, monstera, pothos, rubber plant, bird of paradise, calathea, elephant ear, croton, palms, and many other tropicals.
