Where & When To Use
Where to Use: Use on the ground in a 2-foot wide band around your home's perimeter/foundation.
Where Not to Use: Do not apply to hard surfaces like sidewalks, driveways, and streets. In New York State, this product may not be applied to any grass or turf area (lawns) within 100 feet of a water body (lake, pond, river, stream, wetland, or drainage ditch).
When to Use: Apply at the first sign of insect activity or damage, or apply early to prevent infestations. Apply in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours.
How Often to Use: Re-apply after 3 months if necessary. A repeat application may be made if you see signs of renewed insect activity.
How To Use
1. Open Cap: Remove the cap by rotating it counter-clockwise.
2. Remove Seal: Peel off the seal from the bottle.
3. Replace Cap: Replace the cap by rotating it clockwise until tight.
4. Open Spout: Flip open the spout on the cap.
5. Apply: While holding the bottle parallel to the ground, shake it in a side-to-side motion to dispense the granules evenly. Apply a 2-foot wide band next to the home foundation.
6. Water: For best results, water the treated area thoroughly immediately after application.
How Much To Use
- For general use, apply 0.5 to 1.0 lb. of product for each 500 sq. ft. (a 2 ft. x 250 ft. band).
- For 3-month control, apply 2 lbs. of product for every 500 sq. ft. (or 1 lb. of product for every 250 sq. ft.).
Product Tips
- Water the treated area thoroughly right after application, but do not water to the point of run-off.
- Apply during calm weather when rain is not expected for 24 hours.
- If any granules land on hard surfaces like sidewalks or driveways, sweep them back onto the treated area.
Product Safety
- People and pets may re-enter the treated area once it has dried.
- This product can cause moderate eye irritation. Do not get in eyes or on clothing.
- Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using tobacco.

So easy to use, works incredibly well in fighting the good fight against nasty ants!
I’m in northern Georgia, and every year the ants and other creepy crawlies are OUT OF CONTROL! Well, come springtime, we’re always guaranteed an ant infestation. I’m pretty confident there’s an entire world’s worth of ants living in a monster colony under my concrete driveway. Then, we always find a single file line of ants going across our living room floor in a beeline to god knows where, and coming from god knows where. It’s frustrating. We’d go thru the same motions every year to battle the bugs. Enter Ortho’s Ant Barrier granules. Who knew sprinkling these to form an invisible force field around our house would be so effective? It works, I can tell you that. We had no indoor ants this year at all, and I mean none. No tinies, no big bootied carpenter ants, none floating in the cat’s water dish. Plus, they’re so easy to use, disperse as much as you need and cap it off till you need it again. No messy sprays or liquids you have to mix and then toss the leftovers. 10/10, loved the application and ease of use. Reapply if needed, but we only needed one and done. Effective stuff!

Eliminates ants efficiently and almost immediately
The Ortho Orthene Ant Barrier Granuels work very well to eliminate ants. In no time they were gone. I will continue to use this product as much as I need to. I highly recommend this product to all battling ants!

Kills many insects
We live in a humid and hot climate and we have many insects outside including ants and some spiders and this orthene and barrier granules has been awesome. We have been using it for a while now and we have not seen too many insects since then, the good thing it’s order free and packaging is great . thank you Influenster for giving me a chance to try out this product definitely recommend.

"I was dealing with a persistent ant problem around my yard and home, and Orthene worked much better than I expected. Within a short time, I noticed a significant decrease in ant activity, even in areas where other products had failed.
The product was easy to apply and covered a large area, making it a great value for the price. What impressed me most was how long the results lasted, reducing the need for frequent reapplications.
As with any insecticide, be sure to follow the label instructions carefully and keep children and pets away during application. Overall, this has been one of the most effective products I've used for ant control and I would definitely purchase it again."

Easy to apply, long-lasting pest protection
Highly recommend these Ortho ant barrier granules! The flip top lid is a game changer, makes it so easy to evenly distribute the granules around your house and doesn’t allow them to all spill out at once. The 2.5lbs bottle was enough to spread around the whole perimeter of my small house with little leftover. For a bigger house I would recommend a bigger bottle. I have noticed a difference in seeing less insects in the house since 1st use. I also feel safer using these granules as pest control rather than a spray I can potentially breath in. Definitely would trying for yourself if you have an ant or insect problem!

Works quickly & effectively!
Excellent product! I noticed carpenter ants around my foundation and treated them with this product. A few hours later their activity had significantly decreased. Within 24 hours they were all gone. When I was mowing, I discovered more ants under the drain spout. I applied the granules all over and made sure they went in the ant holes. I haven't seen an ant since! It didn't leave any residue, was dust free, and there was noticeable odor. I highly recommend this product.

Decent amount of product for price
I haven’t had the chance to use this yet since it’s been raining a lot but you get a decent amount of product for the price. I hope it helps with my ant problems, I will update once I use.
