Cautions
- May cause eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes. Protective eyewear is strongly recommended when applying this product. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals.

If empty: Place in trash or offer for recycling if available.
If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place any unused product down an indoor or outdoor drain.

Description
Ortho® GroundClear® Super Weed & Grass Killer₁ kills the toughest weeds and grasses to the root so they don’t come back, including clover, dandelion, oxalis, chickweed, and crabgrass. Absorbs on contact and starts working immediately. In addition, it is rainfast 15 minutes after application. Use Ortho® GroundClear® Super Weed & Grass Killer₁ around trees and shrubs, around fences and on patios, paths, sidewalks, sidewalk cracks, walkways, and driveways. Apply when weeds are actively growing and the air temperature is above 60°F. The Comfort Wand® provides precision control to maximize every spray. Sprayed weeds begin to wilt hours after application, with complete kill within days to 1 to 2 weeks. People and pets may re-enter after the treated area has been allowed to dry.
Step by Step Instructions
How to Use
- Prepare to fight weeds by removing sprayer from the holder on the side of the Ortho® GroundClear® Super Weed & Grass Killer1 with Comfort Wand® bottle. (The first time this product is used you'll need to activate the batteries by removing the pull strip.)
Next unfold the wand until it clicks into position.
Unwrap hose and insert hose connector into spout on the cap. When it clicks, it's in place.
Shake gently before using. Twist knob to “ON.” Set your desired spray pattern on the spray nozzle, then slide the trigger switch to “Unlock.”
Squeeze trigger to spray.
When you have treated all of the weeds, turn the sprayer nozzle to “OFF" and slide the trigger switch to “Lock."
Fold wand closed and place sprayer back in holder.

Where Not to Use
- DO NOT spray this weed killer on or around food or feed crops. You should also not spray any plants you want to keep.
Where to Use
- Ortho® GroundClear® Super Weed & Grass Killer1 can be used to spot-treat weeds around perennial landscape plants, shrubs or trees. It can also be used across patios, walkways, driveways, gravel or mulch beds, and along fences or around buildings.
It can also be used in broadcast applications when performing lawn renovations or preparing landscaped areas.
When to Apply
- To achieve the best results, apply when weeds are actively growing, the air is calm, and the temperature is above 60°F. Applying in calm weather when rain is not predicted for 24 hours will also help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area.
How Often to Apply
- Do not make more than two broadcast applications per year.
Special Instructions
Watering Tips
- If the soil in the area that is to be treated is dry, water every other day for a week before applying this weed killer.

Just what was needed!
This product has helped control weed and grasses popping up in unsightly locations such as mulched bed areas. It is easy to apply and will continue using it in the future. Overall I definitely recommend this as it's a great product.

This stuff is magnificent, kills broadleaf, dandelion, crabgrass, and all other weeds. If you're looking for a weed exterminator run don't walk to purchase ORTHO!

Ortho GroundClear works great. It does exactly what is reads on the label and clears/kills anything you apply it to. Some areas of vegetation require more application than others but this product really works well.

This was really easy to use. I had no issue with it at all that's honestly a hit or miss. Results happened just like the bottle said and I received great results continuously. It really killed whole bunch of my weeds and prevented plenty of them from growing.

Best Yard on the Block!
We have the best looking yard in the neighborhood! This super weed and grass killer is amazing! All of the weeds in our yard were gone in less than 2 weeks! The sprayer application made it really easy to spray tight areas where weeds love to grow (sidewalks, driveways, backyard fence).

It works great
It did the job of clearing the area needing cleared. We sprayed weed as high as 5 feet and multiple varieties, after several days the weeds were killed. The only challenge is the amount of squeezing of the applicator.

Just what we needed!
We recently had to extend out our driveway with gravel and had a problem with weeds and grass trying to grow up through the gravel. I applied this product all over the weeds that I desperately have been trying to get rid of and finally found something that worked. Once applied I waited 24 hours before going to check my results and right then I could tell this was gonna eliminate my weed problem. The weeds were already showing signs that they were dying and becoming limp. By the end of the week they were brown and crisp. After I applies this to my gravel driveway I have not had anymore weed try to pop up! This not only killed the weeds but has kept anymore from making their way through the rocks. This product works fast and goes along ways. I have several other areas of my property I cant wait to use this one.

Super easy to use
With this one be careful lol. It will kill anything that it touches. We have an issue with invasive weeds here in Colorado. We have to kill them. They can get absolutely huge up here. A little goes a long way. If you are trying to keep grass in an area don't use this. It takes out all plant life.
