Description

Kill weeds in your Southern lawn with Ortho® WeedClear™ Lawn Weed Killer Ready-to-Use1. This lawn weed control product kills all listed weeds without harming your lawn (when used as directed). The formula produces results in hours and kills over 250 major broadleaf weeds down to the root, including dandelion, chickweed, clover, dollarweed, spurge, knotweed, oxalis, henbit, plantain, and others as listed. Use this weed killer on lawn grasses, including Bahiagrass, Bentgrass, Bermudagrass (hybrid and common), Buffalograss, Centipedegrass, Fescue, Kentucky Bluegrass, Zoysiagrass, and St. Augustinegrass (except Floratam). Easily apply to weeds using the attached battery-powered Comfort Wand®. To use, attach the wand to the bottle, set to your desired spray pattern, and spray at the center of individual weeds to lightly cover weed leaves. For best results, apply to actively growing weeds when daytime temperatures are below 90°F and not expected to exceed 90°F for 6 hours. This product is for spot treatment only; do not apply to the entire lawn. Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried. Use Ortho® WeedClear™ Lawn Weed Killer Ready-to-Use1 to kill weeds to the roots so they won't come back!

How to Use

To apply Ortho® WeedClear™ Lawn Weed Killer Ready-to-Use1:

  1. Prepare the sprayer. Remove the battery powered wand from the side clip, unwrap the hose completely, and remove protective strip from battery compartment to activate batteries. Then insert the plug at the end of the hose into the spout on the cap until it clicks and flip up the spout. Spout must remain open while spraying. Next, flip open the wand until it locks into position.
  2. Twist the nozzle to the desired spray pattern setting.
  3. Spray. Point the wand away from your body and hold the trigger for a continuous spray. Release the trigger to stop spraying. Aim at the center of weed and spray lightly to cover.

Where Not to Use

  • Do not use this product for controlling weeds in vegetable gardens, flower beds or around shrubs or ornamental plants. Do not use on or around fruits, vegetables or flowers.
  • Do not apply with 25 feet of rivers, fish ponds, lakes, streams, reservoirs, marshes, estuaries, bays and oceans.

Where to Use

  • Intended for use only on residential lawns including Kentucky bluegrass; perennial ryegrass; fescue; bermudagrass (hybrid and common); bahiagrass; bentgrass; buffalograss; centipedegrass; zoysiagrass; and St. Augustinegrass (except Floratam).

When to Apply

  • For the best weed killing results, spray when broadleaf weeds are actively growing, and air temperatures are not expected to exceed 90°F for 6 hours. Although this herbicide can be applied in the spring, summer, or fall, summer applications tend to be less effective. Under adequate soil moisture conditions, spring and fall treatments tend to offer best results.

How Often to Apply

  • Despite the power of this herbicide, certain persistent weeds may require a repeat application no sooner than 30 days. To ensure the longevity of your lawn, limit treatments (including spot treatments) to 2 times per year.

Watering Tips

  • Rain or watering 6 hours after application will not wash away effectiveness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kills Only Weeds I was really amazed at how fast the ortho weedclear works, it says fast acting and they mean it. I sprayed around our new patio and by the next night the weeds were dead and only the weeds our beautiful green grass stayed green. Having the sprayer with the long reach spout makes it easier to get into those small cracks in your sidewalk or weeds around your grass or flowers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weeds be gone! I ordered this Ortho weed killer so my husband would stop trying to mow the weeds down in our big canal ditch with the lawn mower. He thinks I see danger in everything. I think he's a dare devil. Anyways so he sprayed the ditch almost three months ago and still too this day no weeds. Now the summer has turned to fall if only this company would make leafs be gone like they did weeds we would have it made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super convenient and kills wild garlic! This product is so easy to use. Just plug in the wand, pull the tab, and the battery powered sprayer is ready to roll! I have had a great deal of trouble spot treating the wild garlic in my lawn (I always thought it was onion until doing some more research). This products actually knocks it out without damaging the grass around it! I'm really excited about finally having something I can use to spot treat these smelly little tufts of green that make my winter lawn look unkept. I also spot treated some broadleaf weeds, which most killers usually work well on - and they were also starting to die. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really works We had huge dandelion weeds and other stuff growing in our grass. Sprayed with this easy sprayer bottle and within about 48 hrs the were dead. Also tried on weeds growing they some driveway gravel and it also killed them. Easy to use. Has its own attached sprayer so easy for even us gals to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Fast! Weeds Stay Gone! I have been very impressed with how quickly this Ortho WeedClear works around the yard. I have the pesky weeds that grow in between the sidewalk cracks and driveway. In the past I felt like I would have to try to kill them multiple times every month during the growing season in order to keep things looking clean. Within a few days after spraying with WeedClear the weeds had died in the crack. Within a week there was little left to see at all, and a month later nothing has come back. Excellent!
