This starter bundle is designed to give your ProVista lawn essential nutrients and protection against diseases so your lawn can get started on the right track. Starter Lawn Food has a 24-25-4 NPK to give new turfgrass a boost of nitrogen and phosphorus. It's a fertilizer that helps grow strong roots and grows grass thicker and faster (vs unfed grass), so you'll be enjoying playtime in your yard before you know it. DiseaseEx knocks out listed diseases like brown patch, powdery mildew, red thread, and anthracnose so your lawn's facing fewer stresses and focused on growing. Where to Use: New ProVista St. Augustine Lawn Installations
Where Not to Use: This bundle is not available in Florida
When to Use: Apply both products 3-4 weeks after laying sod
How To Use
Follow the label directions on the product label. These products can be applied on the same day, but NOT at the same time.
- PREP YOUR SPREADER: Fill and set your Scotts drop or broadcast/rotary spreader according to label directions. Double check that dial - spreader settings are different for each product.
- GET WALKING: Walk at a steady pace to evenly apply product across your lawn.
- CLEAN UP: Sweep product onto your lawn if it lands on the sidewalk, driveway, or other non-lawn areas.
Spreader Settings
DiseaseEx Lawn Fungicide:
- Scotts Broadcast/Rotary Spreaders: 2 1/4 (preventative rate) or 3 3/4 (curative rate)
- Scotts Drop Spreaders: 4 (preventative rate) or 5 1/2 (curative rate)

Watering Tips
While these products don't need to be watered in, they start working faster with a light watering after application.
Remember: new grass needs plenty of water to establish and grow roots. Ensure that the sod is getting adequate moisture. Your goal is to keep the soil surface moist without overwatering, so check on it frequently and dial back the watering if it’s looking too wet.
Product Tips
SAME DAY APPLICATION: You apply both products on the same day for a simpler lawn care routine. You can start with either product.
ONE AT A TIME: Do NOT put different products in your spreader at the same time. Each product has unique spreader settings, so check the dial to make sure it's at the right setting for the product you're applying.

Disease-Ex worked for my lawn
I'm located in Northern NJ. In 2024 brown spot devastated my front yard and I had to repair and reseed over 50% of the yard. Again, in early June 2025, I noticed early stages of brown spot and applied Disease-Ex at recommended curative setting. After 1 week, didn't notice much improvement, but fungus did not expand. Second week I noticed some improvement and same in 3rd week. It's now the 4th week and it's all gone and green grass once again! I plan to apply another application in a few weeks as preventative. I got lucky and caught brown spot early on.
I also stopped using my E-Go electric mulching mower as not to spread fungus to other parts of the yard. Last 4 weeks I have been using my Honda mower and bagging. All good now and very pleased with my actions and Disease-Ex.

Best insurance for preventing thousands in re sod
Disease will kill your St Auugustine lawn. Then the bugs come to finish it off. I use Disease X so this doesn't happen. Stops existing scourage and prevents damage to replacement turf. It's what you need 'cause the spray companies do fertilizer and weed killer but NO disease application.
