Key Features

  • GET A GRIP ON WEEDS: Our WeedGrip Technology takes care of the weeds you see and even the sneaky ones you don't
  • BUILD A STRONG DEFENSE: It feeds your grass to help it grow thick and strong, creating a natural barrier that leaves no room for new weeds to sprout
  • EASY TO USE: Getting great results is easy; just grab your Scotts® spreader and apply it to a damp lawn—that's it

Let's be honest—your lawn is your pride and joy. But pesky weeds like dandelions and clover are always trying to crash the party. With Turf Builder Weed & Feed₅, you can show them the door. This 2-for-1 powerhouse clears out listed existing weeds while giving your grass the nutrients it needs to grow thick and lush. And here's the best part: a thick lawn is a weed's worst nightmare. It literally crowds them out so they can't come back. You get to knock out two big lawn chores in one easy go. That means less time working and more time firing up the grill and admiring your handiwork.

Safety data sheet can be found at: https://www.scottsmsds.com

Where to Use: Use on bahiagrass, bermudagrass, bluegrass, centipedegrass, fescue, ryegrass, and zoysiagrass lawns

Where Not to Use: Do not use on creeping bentgrass, St. Augustinegrass (including floratam), dichondra, carpetgrass, or lippia lawns, around flowers, shrubs, fruit, or vegetable plants

When to Use: Apply when weeds are actively growing and daytime temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F

How Often to Use: Do not apply more than 2 times per year

  1. Prep the Lawn: Give your grass a quick trim a day or two before you apply.
  2. Dampen, Don't Drench: Apply on a morning when there's heavy dew, or give the lawn a light sprinkle with the hose or sprinkle. The granules need to stick to the weed leaves to work their magic.
  3. Load Up: Fill up your Scotts spreader and dial in the right setting.
  4. Get Spreading: Walk at a steady pace and make even passes across your lawn.
  5. Clean Sweep: Use a broom or leaf blower to get any stray granules off your driveway and sidewalk and back onto the grass where they belong.

Note: Weed stems and leaves will begin to twist and curl in a few days, but a month or more may be required for complete control.

Give it a day to work its magic. Hold off on watering for at least 24 hours after you apply. You want to let the product stick to the weeds, not get washed away. Also, check the forecast—it's best to apply when there's no rain expected the next day.

  • For Bahiagrass & Centipedegrass: If you're applying in the spring, wait until at least mid-April and after you've mowed three times. For fall, get it on centipedegrass lawns before September 1st and bahiagrass before November 1st.
  • Give the Mower a Break: Let the lawn rest for at least 24 hours after you apply.
  • Patience with New Grass: If you have a brand-new lawn, wait until you've mowed it at least four times before using Weed & Feed.
  • Wait to Seed: Planning on seeding or sodding? Hold off for at least a month after applying this product.
  • Gear Up: It's best to wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and shoes with socks while you're applying.
  • Let it Settle: It's best to have the lawn to yourself while you apply. Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until dusts have settled.
  • Wash Up: After you're done, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before grabbing a drink or a snack.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I store my leftover product?

Got some product left? No problem. Just keep it in the original bag and store it in a dry spot, like a garage or shed, where it's out of reach of kids and pets. You'll be all set for the next application.

It's all about the temperature. The sweet spot for applying is when daytime temps are consistently between 60°F and 90°F and weeds are actively growing. For most of us, April is prime time. November might be pushing it, but it really depends on where you live. Your local weather forecast is your best guide.

You bet. It's a case of "too much of a good thing." Overdoing it can burn your lawn, leaving yellow or brown streaks. But don't worry! Just follow the spreader settings and directions on the bag, and you'll be golden. No guesswork needed.

Think of it this way: both are great for your lawn's health, but they have different jobs. Regular lawn food is like a daily vitamin for your grass. Weed & Feed is like that vitamin, plus a bodyguard. If you're fighting off weeds, Weed & Feed is the way to go. If your lawn is weed-free and you just want to feed it, stick with Lawn Food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weed and Feed We have 3 acres, so trying to cover all that is a bit expensive. Trying to make a golf course practice area in my backyard and weeds were an issue. I needed something I knew would work. The weed and feed exceeded expectations. Very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scott’s stand by their warranty and product. I applied Scott’s weed and feed 8 weeks ago. Did a great job on most my weeds. Not that great on my clover. Clover is hard to get rid of. I filled out the online warranty. They sent me replacement product for second application. Had it delivered to my door less than a week. They stand by their product and warranty. I definitely recommend Scott’s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped my daughter make her lawn look real nice. This stuff is awesome. Used it on my daughter's lawn - she recently purchased a home and the lawn was in rough shape. Following the crabgrass preventer in late March, I used the Weed and Feed later in May and her lawn looks awesome! Applied as directed and the results are fabulous. Do be careful around hostas and watch your drift on breezy days. Definitely controls weeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product. Works very well. To test the product I followed the instructions to the t : checked the weather , used Scott’s drop spreader and the results are amazing. Grass is much thicker and very dark with all weeds gone. Compared to areas I left out (overrun with weeds , much paler almost yellowing , thin and short grass )
