Safety data sheet can be found at: https://www.scottsmsds.com

Where to Use: Use on bahiagrass, bermudagrass, bluegrass, centipedegrass, fescue, ryegrass, and zoysiagrass lawns.

Where Not to Use: Do not use on creeping bentgrass, St. Augustinegrass (including Floratam), dichondra, carpetgrass, or lippia lawns.

When to Use: Apply in the fall, from September to November, when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F.

How Often to Use: Do not apply more than twice a year.

  1. Prep the Lawn: Give your grass a quick trim a day or two before you apply.
  2. Dampen, Don't Drench: Apply on a morning when there's heavy dew, or give the lawn a light sprinkle with the hose. The granules need to stick to the weed leaves to work their magic.
  3. Load Up: Fill up your Scotts spreader and dial in the right setting.
  4. Get Spreading: Walk at a steady pace and make even passes across your lawn.
  5. Clean Sweep: Use a broom or leaf blower to get any stray granules off your driveway and sidewalk and back onto the grass where they belong.

Note: Weed stems and leaves will begin to twist and curl in a few days, but a month or more may be required for complete control.

  • Scotts Broadcast/Rotary Spreaders: 3 3/4

Give it a day to work its magic. Hold off on watering for at least 24 hours after you apply. You want to let the product stick to the weeds, not get washed away. Also, check the forecast—it's best to apply when there's no rain expected the next day.

  • Timing is Everything: Apply in the fall when weeds are actively growing and daytime temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F.
  • Mow First: Mowing a day or two before you apply helps the product reach the weeds more easily.
  • Leave it Be: Don't mow for at least 24 hours after application.
  • Kids & Pets: It's best to have the lawn to yourself while you apply. Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until dusts have settled.
  • Gear Up: We recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and gloves.
  • Wash Up: After you're done, wash your hands thoroughly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fall weed and feed Caring for your lawn can be overwhelming with all the different products that are out there. I always find Scott’s products reliable and effective so I was really excited to give this a try on my grass. I like the convenience of this weed and feed - that it kills two birds with one stone. It was very easy to apply with my spreader and I was able to do my whole lawn with one bag. I like that you only have to put it down once and I am looking forward to seeing how great my grass looks when it comes back in the spring. One thing to note is that there are specific conditions on when you can put this down so it does take a little bit of planning but worth it to keep your grass healthy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OG of lawn care Scott’s is the OG of lawn care. It’s what my dad used and it’s the best. This bag came well packaged, and when I opened it the fragrance of fertilizer that I associate with spring wafted up, though I suppose fall is really the time to apply this stuff. Be sure to read the instructions. You don’t want to do any harm. I can’t yet report on its effectiveness this season, but with Scott’s I have full confidence that it will do its job well.
