Compared to seed alone, this grass seed mix will grow 2X faster (when applied at the new lawn rate, subject to proper care). You can count on Scotts® Turf Builder® Rapid Grass Bermudagrass to grow full, green grass in tough conditions (subject to proper care). Use on either new lawns or to overseed an existing bermudagrass lawn. For best results, apply in the spring or early summer when air temperatures are consistently between 70°F and 90°F. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product Do not use weed control products until your lawn has been mowed at least 4 times. Finally, be sure to apply Scotts® Lawn Food products every 8 weeks throughout the season to help maintain your thick, green lawn. One 8 lb. bag of Scotts® Turf Builder® Rapid Grass Bermudagrass has a new lawn coverage of 3,000 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 10,000 sq. ft.

How To Use

When Seeding a New Lawn 

• One 4 lb. bag covers 1,495 sq. ft. of a new lawn. 
• Rake the area you will be seeding to loosen the top layer of soil (roughly 2" deep). Remove any dead grass or debris to ensure seed-to-soil contact. 
• Apply using a Scotts® spreader - Set a Scotts® Hand-Held Spreader to 4. Set a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader to 3 3/4. Set a Scotts® Drop Spreader to 10 1/2. Set a Scotts® Wizz® Spreader to 4. Set a Scotts® Elite Spreader to 4. 
• After applying, lightly rake the product into the soil. Ensure it is covered just beneath the soil surface. 
• Water daily to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 in. tall. 

When Overseeding an Existing Lawn 

• One 4 lb. bag covers 5,000 sq. ft. when overseeding an existing lawn. 
• Mow the area to a height of approximately 2 in. or mow at the lowest mower setting. Rake the area you will be seeding to loosen the top layer of soil. Remove any dead grass or debris to ensure seed-to-soil contact. 
• Apply using a Scotts® spreader - Set a Scotts® Hand-Held Spreader to 2. Set a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader to 2. Set a Scotts® Drop Spreader to 6 3/4. Set a Scotts® Wizz® Spreader to 3. Set a Scotts® Elite Spreader to 3. 
• Water daily to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 in. tall. 
• You can start to mow again when the lawn reaches the desired mowing height.
