We work to minimize water-related risks for consumers by designing our products and using ingredients that help minimize things such as fertilizer runoff, which harms aquatic ecosystems. Our lawn and garden solutions help consumers conserve water and avoid overusing fertilizer to better preserve rivers, lakes and streams.
Conservation
We're always finding ways to be more efficient with water. In manufacturing, we reclaim wastewater and reintroduce it into the production process where possible to reduce purchased water volumes and wastewater.

Optimizing greenhouse water use
In 2024, we cut overall water usage in our greenhouses by 50% after we switched from an overhead sprinkler system to AquaMat capillary mats and precision drip irrigation.
The new system delivers water directly to plant roots, which decreased water use per plant by 70% and greatly reduced runoff and the need for cleaning water.
