If you’ve spent any time on plant TikTok or instagram, you may already know Chas. She’s a seasoned plant parent and someone who knows how to curate a welcoming home environment.
How would you describe your plant-care style (practical, intuitive, structured, experimental)?
My plant-care style is intuitive and realistic. I pay attention to what’s actually working in my home instead of following strict rules, and I adjust as my plants and pets show me what they need. It’s less about perfection and more about consistency.
What’s your general philosophy for creating a home that feels welcoming, lived-in, and full of life?
I like spaces that feel lived in, not overly styled. If plants, pets, and everyday life are clearly happening there, that’s when a home feels good to me!
What are your best tips for maintaining a thriving indoor garden in a pet-filled home?
Plant placement is everything. I choose sturdy plants, use shelves and wall space when needed, and accept that a little trial and error is part of it when you have curious animals.
What’s one lesson you’ve learned about balancing plants and pets that you wish you knew earlier?
Not every plant needs to be within reach or part of the main space. Once I stopped forcing plants into places that didn’t work, everything felt easier.
