To use the Ortho® Home Defense® Mosquito Kill & Prevent stations, first, you must fill the base with water up to the fill line. Next, you shake the refill package, place the dry refill band onto the floater, and gently set the floater on the water's surface inside the base, being careful not to let the band get wet. Once assembled, place the stations outdoors in a shaded area near vegetation or property lines, ensuring the area is near human habitation and avoiding direct sunlight. You should use at least one station for every 4,300 sq. ft. For continued control, check the water level periodically and replace the refill band monthly. This system works by attracting mosquitoes to lay eggs, contaminating them, and then allowing them to spread the formula to other breeding sites to reduce the overall population long-term.
