Every spring, more than 50 associates from a variety of departments come together to celebrate Earth. The morning starts with stacks and stacks of soil, mulch and plant food in the parking lot. It ends with 70-plus community gardens stocked with growing media, lots of smiles and some tired arms.
This Earth Day tradition includes a contribution from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and a longstanding partnership with the Franklin Park Conservatory. It truly embodies the spirit of our purpose to GroMoreGood in the world. By the time all of the gardens stop by, associates have loaded more than 8,000 bags of product onto their vehicles.
During the event, we spoke to several of the community gardens as they came through, asking them what their plans were for the upcoming season.
One of the best parts in hearing everyone’s responses was knowing that our Earth Day efforts go beyond just one day and will help the community throughout the spring and summer.
Thanks to everyone throughout the company who helped contribute to another successful Earth Day!
