Our commitment to protecting pollinators
Bees, butterflies and other pollinators need more habitat. It's our promise to dedicate grant funding and pollinator education resources to help establish and enhance pollinator gardens across North America.
National Recreation and Park Association
We are helping Americans connect with and protect the pollinators living in their own local parks and backyards. In 2017, we launched the Parks for Pollinators program with the National Park and Recreation Association. In addition to expanding pollinator habitats in local parks around the country, Parks for Pollinators helps grow people’s understanding of these vital creatures and their confidence in how to protect them. Learn more about this partnership.
Pollinator Stewardship Council
We support the Pollinator Stewardship Council (PSC), one of the nation's leading pollinator advocacy organizations, in its mission to defend managed and native pollinators. Through this partnership, PSC educates the public about the role of pollinators in growing our food and everyday actions we can take to protect them. In 2017, we collaborated with PSC to launch the Bee Responsible consumer education campaign.
Miracle-Gro® helps gardeners plant and grow pollinator gardens and establish pollinator-friendly spaces in their backyards. In 2016, the Ortho® brand announced its decision to remove neonics from its outdoor products. Today, less than one percent of Ortho’s outdoor garden controls are produced with neonics. Through the Bee Responsible education campaign, Ortho goes beyond formulation changes to help gardeners protect pollinators while using its products.
