Mike was named chief operating officer in December 2014. He is responsible for the Company’s worldwide portfolio of consumer brands and products. He has accountability for overall leadership of all aspects of the Global Consumer business including Marketing, Sales, Research and Development and Global Supply Chain. He is also responsible for the Company’s Scotts LawnService business, as well as leading growth in emerging growth areas.

Mike began his ScottsMiracle-Gro career in 1995, and has had several progressive assignments, including director, operations; vice president, manufacturing; and senior vice president, Global Supply Chain. He was also executive vice president, global technologies and operations, responsible for Global Supply Chain, Research and Development and Business Transformation. Mike also served as regional president, responsible for leading the Company’s Business Development, Marketing and Sales efforts in the southeastern U.S. He eventually led the North American sales function until March 2014, when he was named executive vice president for the entire North American business.

Mike had 16 years of business unit and operations management experience before joining ScottsMiracle-Gro, with leadership assignments at Nabisco, Kraft-General Foods and Kroger.

He earned bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology at Georgetown College (Kentucky) and attended Kraft Executive Management School at Southern Methodist University.

Besides his family, Mike has two passions. He loves to play golf and he loves the Cincinnati Bengals. His love for the Bengals started when he attended the 1981 Freezer Bowl when they played against the Chargers in -50 degree weather.
