Dicamba

Definition

Dicamba is a selective herbicide that fights broadleaf weeds and brush.

Scientists discovered dicamba’s potential as an herbicide in the early 1940s. It was approved for use in the U.S. in 1971; since then, it’s become one of the most commonly used herbicides in lawns and professional turf settings.

Once absorbed by the weed, dicamba mimics a plant growth compound called auxin, thereby accelerating a weed’s growth so much that it ultimately dies.
