Definition
Diquat is a fast-acting herbicide that stops weeds from making energy through photosynthesis. It’s been used in the U.S. since the late 1950s to protect crops, kill aquatic weeds and beautify lawns and gardens.
Weeds sprayed with diquat experience rapid drying, particularly in sunny conditions.
Diquat is used to quickly eliminate weeds, but it can also be mixed with slower-acting ingredients that travel to the plant roots to prevent regrowth.
