Q: Why did ScottsMiracle-Gro start a Foundation?
A: As ScottsMiracle-Gro approaches its 150th anniversary in 2018, our CEO and Chairman Jim Hagedorn wanted to create a lasting legacy for generations to come. The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation was established as a way to focus our support in addressing environmental and social issues that impact our world.

Q: What types of projects does The Foundation support?
A: The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation focuses its support in three areas where it can make the most impact for social change:

  • Community Enhancement – bringing gardens and greenspaces to areas that need them the most
  • Environmental Improvement – protecting our environment’s resources and educating people how to be good stewards of our planet
  • Youth Empowerment – helping students realize their potential through an education

Q: What organizations does The Foundation have partnerships with?
A: The Foundation supports many national, regional and local non-profit groups and foundations. A few of our partners include: Restore America’s Estuaries; The U.S. Conference of Mayors; Kidsgardening.org; Alliance for Water Efficiency; Plant A Row for the Hungry; Farms for City Kids.

A: Volunteering your time and talents is a great way to show support. For example, our ScottsMiracle-Gro associates use their “Give Back To Gro” Community Service days to volunteer in a variety of ways, helping their local communities.
